Skip the gravy and make loaded mashed potatoes. Mashed potatoes are made better with bacon and cheese.
Two of my favorite ways to eat potatoes are twice baked and mashed. This recipe today combines the best of both of those dishes.
These loaded mashed potatoes have the creaminess of mashed potatoes but are loaded with all the yummy ingredients of twice-baked potatoes.
Loaded mashed potatoes are the perfect side dish to ham on the holidays. But they are also delicious every day with steak, chicken, meatloaf, and even seafood.
Yes, seafood. I recently served these with gluten free fried shrimp and vegetables. It was a dinner that we all loved.
I first shared this recipe way back in 2010. I still make the recipe the exact same way, but the pictures were in desperate need of updating.
I recently needed a side dish to go with dinner, so I made these mashed potatoes. I knew it was the perfect time to retake the pictures.

Yummy! My whole family would love these! Especially the addition of bacon. I think we could eat bacon on and in just about anything! I’ll have to give this recipe a try. Thanks for sharing it with us! 🙂

I like adding a bit of cream cheese or blue cheese dressing to my potatoes sometimes. Shredded cheese is always yummy too, whether Cheddar, or Swiss!
