As many of you know my daughter developed an allergy to peanuts last year. What you may not know is that peanut butter was one my husband’s favorite food. He loved peanut butter and we ate a lot of it.
And because peanut butter was one of his favorite foods, I used it a lot in my cooking, especially in desserts. I have many of our favorite peanut butter recipes on my site and today I thought I would highlight some of them.
We can no longer enjoy these, so could you please have a piece of candy, pie, or cake for us.
I miss Peanut Butter Ice Cream Sundaes. They are so good.
Peanut Butter Pudding is great on its own, but it is even better layered in Peanut Butter Pudding Dessert
Easy Peanut Butter Cups are so good. If you like the peanut butter candy that comes in an orange package and starts with R. You will love these.
My husbands all time favorite dessert is Peanut Butter Mud Pie. So good!
No Bake Peanut Butter Treats is so quick and easy to make and so good.
You will enjoy Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies even if you are not gluten free. They really are good.
Peanut Butter Sheet Cake is another one of my husband’s favorites. It is so good and so different.
Peanut Butter Granola is perfect for breakfast.
And of course one of our favorite’s Peanut Butter Baked Oatmeal
What is your favorite way to eat peanut butter?
Natalie
Hi Lynn,
My son has a peanut allergy, also. I was really sad when we had to cut it out of our home. Have you heard of SunButter? It is made with sunflower seeds, looks the same and tastes almost exactly like peanut butter. My other kids can’t tell the difference. It is made in a nut-free facility. It substitutes well in all peanut butter recipes. There are some adjustments to the baking soda to keep it from turning green from the natural acids, although sometimes the kids think the green is cool. It doesn’t change anything. The SunButter website has a whole list of recipes to use it in. You can buy SunButter there, or cheaper on Amazon and sometimes even in health food and some grocery stores. All of the stores I have talked to have said they will carry it if I make a formal request, I just haven’t done it yet. It is a WONDERFUL substitute for the real thing.

@Natalie, We have tried the Sun butter and my daughter does not really like it very well. She actually prefers the soy butter, but I don’t like to use that very much. I have used them both some in cooking, but for some things I can tell a difference in taste, so I am picky on what I use them in. I do like it in things like granola, where the peanut butter flavor was less prominent. I did notice recently though that the Amazon price is much cheaper than I can get in my area, so I am going to order from them next time.

My husband also loves peanut butter. His favorite is to put peanut butter frosting on chocolate cake or for that matter any cake. I’m sure he will enjoy some of the recipes you have shared. Thank you.

One of my absolute favorite ways to eat peanut butter is via your Easy Peanut Butter cups, which I have been making for a couple of years. OH. MY. HEAVENS!!! Way better than the candy in the orange wrapper that starts with R!
Great, now I’m craving them….

Peanut Butter Baked Oatmeal is a staple in my home, now. I have at least one giant piece a day, I love to soak for a day or so and use homemade yogurt in place of all or part of the milk 🙂 Thank you, thank you, thank you for the recipe!
