Braum’s is one of my favorite places to go for an ice cream treat. My husband and I would often go to Braum’s for a date when we were first married because it was much cheaper than eating a full meal out. And over the years it has also become on of my kid’s favorite places to get a treat.
One of my favorite things to order at Braum’s is their hot fudge brownie sundae. I have loved it since I first tasted it years ago.
I mean how can you go wrong with a fudgy brownie served with ice cream and hot fudge sauce. YUM!
However, with a family full now full of food issues, including a nut and peanut allergy, eating out for ice cream in almost impossible.
But if you know me, then you know I love to recreate our favorites at home. From orange julius and Jamba Juice, to homemade Frappuccino and our favorites at Chipotle, I love to recreate them all. And a Brownie Fudge Sundae was so easy to recreate at home.
After all it is just a brownie, ice cream, and fudge sauce, with a little whipping cream on top. And not only was it easy to recreate it was also much cheaper.
I can probably feed my whole family a brownie fudge sundae at home for the price of one or two at Braum’s. Now I would not discourage you from trying the Braum’s version because they really are good. I am just keeping it real here and it is much cheaper to make them at home.
These brownie sundaes are not really a recipe. There are basically a nice fudgy brownie covered with ice cream and chocolate or fudge sauce. And if you have whipping cream and a cherry it will be even more like the real thing.
These are so good and make a perfect summertime treat.

You are so right… ice cream and the yummy treats that go along with it are just out with food allergies. I recently re-created a DQ/Carvel Ice Cream Cake for just that reason — a great $ saver, and something we can all enjoy.
The Chocolate Covered Kitchen
Be sure to use the best quality chocolate available — it makes a huge difference and turns an ordinary dessert into an extraordinary one. And the darker the chocolate, the less sugar!

I love Braum’s, too. Whenever we go to Tyler or Dallas (both in Texas), we always stop at Braum’s. Hamburger first and then ice cream. So good! My favorite flavors are pistachio almond and apricot mango. Their baked goods are wonderful, as well, although they are loaded with carbs and calories. So, what can a couple of times a year hurt?

Have you ever tried their Peanut Butter Fudge Sundae…Its heavenly…I was not disappointed that the kids get free coupons for reading at school…That just gives me an excuse to go once a month. 🙂

@Jaidi Clayton, Yes and it is so good. I really don’t think I have had any ice cream treat from Braun’s that was not good. 🙂 I love their shakes and banana splits also. We also love their frozen twist yogurts. They are so simple and inexpensive and so good. Can you tell I like ice cream. 🙂

AWWWW I am so jealous!!! I loved going to Braums when I lived in Oklahoma as a teenager. It was cheeseburger and cherry limeade for me, then hot caramel sundae. It has been too long since I have had Braums. My oldet daughter brought me Braums caramel sauce-so yummy!!!!!! I have lived in Virginia for 11 years now, husband is Navy.
I’m going to have to check to see if there is a Braums on my way to Mississippi to visit my brother and his family this summer.
