I mentioned last week about my struggles with finding time to read, but one thing I forgot to mention in that post was how much I love my Kindle. I would not have read even the books I managed to last year if it had not been for my Kindle
It is so nice to be able to keep it in my purse or bag to take out when I am sitting at appointments, piano lessons, in the car, and when traveling. I started out with just a few books on my kindle, but I am slowing adding more and more as I find them for a good price.
One of the things that I have been amazed with is the amount of free books, and even books for under $1, that are available for the Kindle. And I have even found some cookbooks for free or very inexpensive.
I recently discovered that Gooseberry Patch has quite a few cookbooks on the Kindle and many of them are under $1. Right now you can get the Dinners on a Dime Cookbook: More than 200 recipes for delicious, budget-friendly family meals for only 99 cents on the kindle. That is a great deal for 200 recipes and I know many of you love Gooseberry Patch and their cookbooks.
And if you don’t have a Kindle, don’t worry, Amazon has you covered with lots of other options and apps available for reading ebooks.
Now I am curious, who else loves their Kindle or other ebook reader? Do you find you read more with all the options for ebooks?
Note: Prices on Amazon change so these prices may not last long.

I love my Kindle also. I have only had it since Christmas but love it. I got my son one and we both feel the same, it is so easy to read either of us seem to get eye stain, its easy to hold and if you put it down you just pick it up and off you go. I had to shut mine off and put it up as I read 2 books in 3 days. I was afraid of that cause when I read I read. I am headed to the Gooseberry Patch and see what they have. I am also going to set up some rules for myself as far as reading, hope they work.

Thanks for the heads up on this book. I bought it for my Kindle Fire. Looks like some good simple recipes. I just wish that Kindle cookbooks were formatted better.

i have the kindle app on my Android. That way I didn’t need a separate device to keep track of or carry around. I have gotten several Gooseberry Patch cookbooks downloaded free from Amazon. Thanks for sharing about this cookbook!

Love, love, love my Kindle! It’s the Kindle keyboard and for just reading it really is great. It has saved me tons of money on all the free books available.

I just got a Kindle Fire for Christmas and love it (especially that I can keep up with blots on it….like I am now!) I didn’t even think of cookbooks and I LOVE gooseberry! Another great place is your local library. Mine has tons of kindle books for checkout!

I also got a Kindle for Christmas. I had been downloading the free ones from Amazon to my computer because I wasn’t ready to jump on the bandwagon. While I still love my real books, I can definitely see a lot of advantages and am loving it so far.

I got a Kindle Fire for Christmas, too and so far I love it! Just out of curiosity, where all do y’all find your books? I can check out books from my library, but unfortunately I think eveyone in my are must have gotten a Kindle for Christmas, too because there haven’t been many Kindle books available to “check out” lately. Thanks!
Lynn
I can’t get them from my library, but I do find quite a few just by looking at the free section on Amazon. If you go to the Kindle section there is an area where they have like the top 100 free books. They change it up so I try to check back a few times a month and see what new free books they have. They also have a bargain ebook section that I like to look at.

I found a good deal on an Android-based e-reader called Cruz. I love it. Without that e-reader, I don’t think I would have done ANY reading last year that wasn’t on the internet or read-alouds to my daughter. (Though I love finding good public domain read-alouds too.) I think 98% of what I have to read on my reader has been free from Amazon. The other things have been 99 cents and less than $6.

I got a fire for Christmas and I absolutely love it! It is so easy to carry with me and have access to books, appps, recipes, etc. Thee are tons of free books available. I have yet to pay for anything but I’m going to have to look into this one. Thanks for sharing it with us:)
