Skip the local ice cream shop and make a homemade peach milkshake instead.
Milkshakes are one of my favorite summertime treats to make at home, especially when using fresh fruit to make them.
I blame my love of fresh fruit milkshakes on Burgerville. Many of you may not know what Burgerville is, but Burgerville is very familiar to those who live in Oregon and Washington.
Burgerville is a fast-food restaurant known for using many locally grown ingredients, such as fruit in its milkshakes and Walla Walla onions in its onion rings and burgers.
My favorite item at Burgerville has always been the fruit milkshakes. I love their strawberry milkshakes when they have them in June.
But Oregon is a long way to go just for a fruit milkshake. The good news is that they are easy to make at home.
So, for those of you who do not have a Burgerville close by or who have never had a fruit milkshake, I am going to share with you today how you can make one at home. It is really easy.
If you don’t love peaches, you can easily make them with strawberries or raspberries.
Have you ever made fruit milkshakes? If you have not you need to try one because it is so good!
Are fruit milkshakes a regional thing? I do not see them very often here in Oklahoma, which is too bad because they are so good.
Ingredients
- fresh peaches
- milk
- vanilla ice cream
Homemade Peach Milkshake
A copycat of a restaurant favorite peach milkshake.
Ingredients
- 2 ( or 3 ) cups vanilla ice cream, the better the ice cream is the better the milkshake will taste ( I like 3 cups ice cream because I like my milkshakes thick)
- 1/3 ( to 1/2 ) cup milk, more if you like your shakes thinner
- 2 fresh peaches, that have been peeled and sliced
Instructions
- In a blender combine all ingredients and blend until smooth and you have the desired consistency. Add more milk if needed.
- Serve and enjoy!
- This makes 2-3 milkshakes depending on how large you serve them.

I love fruit milkshakes, especially peach ones! Thank you for sharing this recipe! In Virginia Beach there’s an ice cream place, Handel’s, and their peach milkshakes are wonderful! Now we’re in So. California & will need to find another ice cream shop that has the same goodness. But if not, I can definitely make these in my own kitchen. 🙂

I prefer using condensed milk because taste will not rely on the ice cream. Also, it makes them super creamy and true to taste.

Tried this today for my kids and our guests and the milkshakes were awesome! I also like my milkshakes thicker so we went with the 3 cups of ice cream and less milk. Thank you!

I am so glad that you enjoyed them!
