Chili bowls are a simple lunch or dinner idea that repurposes two leftovers. And using leftovers in new ways is one of the best ways to save money in the kitchen.
Last week I shared a simple chili dog recipe. This week I am sharing another favorite way to use leftover chili and that is chili bowls.
Yes, I know many of you have probably been making these for years, chili over rice is not exactly a new concept, but I wanted to share this for those that may have never tried them.
This isn’t really a recipe but is great way to use two of my favorite leftovers, which are chili and cooked rice. I often have both in the fridge as leftovers, but I also often have both in the freezer. This makes chili bowls a quick and easy lunch or dinner.
I heat them both up, add some cheese, and call it a meal.
It works great for lunch or dinner. If you have never tried these you need to. They are a great family and budget friendly meal.
