Change up pizza night with this BBQ pizza recipe made with leftover BBQ.
We have pizza almost every Friday. We love a basic cheese or pepperoni pizza, but we also love to change it up with recipes like this BBQ pizza.
I have been making this pizza for years.
I started making it years ago as a way to use up leftover meat. It can get boring when you have leftovers that you have to eat for several days.
One way you can keep them from getting boring is to change them up and serve them in different ways.
I often make a crock pot full of BBQ chicken, beef, or pork. It is one of my favorite cook-once-and-eat-two or three-time meals.
We eat it as is on the first day, and then I either put the leftovers in the freezer to use at a later time or I get creative with using the leftover BBQ.
One of the things I love about BBQ meat is that it can be used in so many different ways. You can eat it as is, in sandwiches, on baked potatoes, for BBQ oven fries, and even on pizza.
Yes, pizza.
BBQ is delicious on pizza!
Instead of homemade BBQ, I recently used some leftovers from a local restaurant. It worked great.
I had a little bit of BBQ left, but it wasn’t enough for all of us. Turning it into a pizza dinner made the leftovers stretch to serve all of us.
One of the things I like about BBQ pizza is that it doesn’t take a lot of meat to make. This is perfect for that last bit of BBQ meat you might have left, but that is not enough for a complete meal.
Ingredients
I give exact amounts for this BBQ pizza recipe, but it is really a recipe that I just use what I have. You can use as much or as little meat as you like.
The same thing with the cheese. We like a lot of cheese, but you can easily use just a little. This is one of those recipes that you can take the basic idea and make your own.
- leftover BBQ meat, beef, chicken, or pork
- BBQ sauce
- cheese
- pizza crust or gluten free pizza crust

Yum! That looks good! I bet some caramelized onions and/or jalapenos would be good on that BBQ beef pizza.
