I saw this recipe several weeks ago in a Better Homes and Garden magazine. I knew right away that I wanted to try it. I love hot chocolate and I love chocolate and coconut together even more.
I decided to give this recipe a try for Thanksgiving. I doubled the recipe so that I would have enough for everyone. I mixed all the ingredients together in the crockpot and left it on low. This way everyone could enjoy a cup full as they wanted.
We loved this! It is a perfect hot drink to serve at holiday parties or family gatherings. I served this with my chocolate whipped cream and it was so good.
It would be an easy and great drink to serve at a holiday party, dessert party, or cookie exchange during the holidays.
You can also heat this on the stove top, but the crockpot worked well. I would be sure to heat this on low and turn to warm though. I left mine in the crockpot a little too long and it developed a film on top.

Oh, Lynn, this looks delicious! I will have to make it for a large family gathering sometime because my mom and brother-in-law are the only two other people in my family who will come within ten feet of coconut. 😉 Thanks for linking it up- can’t wait to try it.

I love coconut, but my DH does not. So… I’ll have to join you at your house to get a taste of this drink!

Oh my word, that sounds heavenly!! I think I could drink a whole crockpot full myself. Which I would have to, since my DH wouldn’t touch it with a ten-foot pole. All the more for me! (Amy, you can come have some at my house.)

Coconut is one of my favorite flavors & who doesn’t like a steamy mug of hot cocoa? I made this recipe as written & it was awful! Very disappointing use of time & ingredients. I wish I had been warned about the cocoa just sitting on top of the ingredients not really wanting to combine. After much stirring & the use of a mixer, most of the cocoa lumps came out. This cocoa tasted like a cheap packet of hot cocoa mix from Wal-Mart. I ended up dumping it.
