Peanut Butter M&M cookies combine peanut butter and M&M’s into one delicious cookie! The recipe also includes how to make them gluten-free.
Long time readers might be wondering why I am posting a recipe with peanut butter since my daughter has a peanut allergy. The answer is that I made these for my son and me when we were visiting my family in Oregon.
I did a lot of cooking and baking this summer and I am finally getting around to posting some of the recipes.
When I was at my parent’s house back in May I took advantage of not being with my nut allergy daughter and I made all kinds of peanut and nut filled treats. These peanut butter M&M cookies are one of the recipes.
I have not made regular peanut butter cookies in years.
In the past when we have visited family my sister has made peanut butter cookies for my husband and son. They always loved the recipe she made.
This year when I wanted to make peanut butter cookies at my parent’s house, I wanted to try something new. I didn’t want to make my flourless chocolate peanut butter cookies, so I asked my sister for her peanut butter cookie recipe.
I gave it a try using Bob’s Red Mill Gluten Free 1 to 1 flour blend because I wanted to enjoy the cookies too.
I added M&M’s to mine because we had a big bag at my mom’s house and they seemed like a good addition to the cookies. (Note: If you are gluten-free do your research on M&M’s. Not everyone agrees on how safe they are to eat. )
The cookies turned out great. We loved peanut butter M&M cookies.
These cookies can be made in a lot of different ways. My sister has been making this recipe for years. She makes it with normal all-purpose flour. Sometimes she adds chocolate chips.
I made it with Bob’s Red Mill 1 to 1 gluten-free blend and it also turned out great. The M&M’s added made them even better.
No matter how you make these they are sure to become a favorite!
I will add that I took these pictures on vacation. The lighting and background is not the best and I can’t retake them since I don’t cook with peanut butter at our house. These cookies taste way better than the pictures make them look.
