I have a favorite new kitchen tool. It is a rolling pin. Why is it a new favorite? Let me explain.
I received a very nice marble rolling pin for a wedding gift fourteen years ago. I used it quite a bit. It was heavy but it worked great. That is, it worked great until a few years ago. When someone was using it, I won’t mention any names, it rolled off the counter and the handle broke. I was disappointed but it was still usable, so I just kept using it. The problem is that it is still usable, but it does not work the same. It just doesn’t work quite right. It doesn’t roll like it should. But I have made do with it because I did not want to spend the money on a new one.
Well, I recently saw this rolling pin for a good price and I gave in and bought it. I am so glad I did. I love it. I have heard great things about this style of rolling pin and I was not disappointed. It works great. The dough rolls out so nice using it. I am so glad that I was able to buy it. Now, I don’t have an excuse not to make cinnamon rolls, biscuits, and pie crusts.

Glad you found a rolling pin that works great for you– perfect timing with all that holiday baking coming up!

The same thing happened to my mil’s marble roller. Glad it didn’t land on someone’s foot!

I, too, replaced a broken handled marble one with one similar to this.
I love the open-handed way you can roll things out compared to the closed grip I used on the traditional type. It’s much easier on my tendonitis plagued wrists.
I’ll never go back to one with handles.

Could you tell me how you categorized your recipes on the right side of your blog? I want to do the same for my blog, but I’m not sure how. By the way, still learning new things from your blog.

Jackie, I label mine when I post them. At the bottom of the page where you create the post is a spot for labeling the post. I just label it what it is. If it fits under several things I label it like “cookies, desserts”. If that does not answer your question enough, email me and I will see if I can help. Also, I have a great cinnamon roll recipe that I hope to post soon.

What is your favorite cinnamon roll recipe??
