Why I Love Ebates

My husband and I shop a lot online. We have done this for a long time, and it has saved us a lot of time and money. We shop online for several reasons.

First, we live out in the country. We don’t have a shopping mall or store nearby. Many times it is cheaper to pay shipping than it is to drive to the mall or store. It not only saves us gas money, it saves us time because we do not have to drive 30-45 minutes and go to store after store looking for what we need.

Secondly, my husband and I are not your average size. I am 5 foot 10 inches and my husband is 6 foot 5 inches. We can’t shop at your average department store. The majority of our clothes come from places like Land’s End, Eddie Bauer, JC Penny’s, and LL Bean. We shop those stores because they all sell a wide selection of tall clothes that we cannot find in the stores.

Because we shop so much online, I was thrilled to find out about Ebates last fall. Ebates is an online company that pays you to shop. If you shop through their site, they pay you a percentage back. It usually ranges from 3 to 6 %. I love this because over the last year I have made $126 just by purchasing items I would have purchased anyway.

All you do is go to Ebates and sign up. It is free. Find the store you want to shop at. If I want to shop at Land’s End, I find the Lands End link in the store section. I then click through to Land’s End from there. It redirects me Land’s End. That is all you do. You purchase, check out, and can even use coupon codes like normal. It is an extra step, but it is well worth it.

Ebates even lets you know of discount codes and free shipping offers that are available, saving you even more.

There are over 1,000 stores that you can shop through Ebates. We have shopped at Walmart, Target, QVC, HSN, Macy’s, and others through ebates.

I just recently discovered that a company my husband buys office and computer supplies from for our business is on Ebates. So, now we are going to use it when we buy supplies from that company and get 3% cash back on purchases we would be making anyway.

I also discovered Ebay is on Ebates, although I have not tried to use it for Ebay, I plan too.

You also get money for referrals, but I have made my $126 without having any referrals.

I have waited to post about Ebates because I wanted to be sure it was a company that I was comfortable recommending. After a year of using them and after receiving several checks, I can now say I love Ebates, and I highly recommend them. With holiday shopping coming up it is a great time to join Ebates.
